Regular Hourly Rate: $40 (2-Hrs. Min.) or $35 (8-Hrs. Min.)

Full payment due at end of each session. Please see the General Policies below for details.

Freelance Engineer Studio Rental Rate: $100 (4-Hrs.) or $150 (8-Hrs.)

Qualified freelance engineers (as determined by Weston Ray) may rent the studio with a minimum of 4-hours per day. This minimum allows us to keep rates low. Weston Ray must attend all sessions and will assist the engineer if desired.

Media Cost: For all projects, there is also Media Cost. We offer 2 options for this:

1. $200 for 1 160G firewire hard drive. This will hold at least 2-full-albums-worth of multitracked 24-bit audio. Otherwise, clients may bring-in their own Pro Tools qualified firewire hard drive. The hard drives we use and recommend is the Lacie d2 Hard Drive Extreme and may be purchased at any Apple Store in various storage sizes.

2. $10 per song for rental space on our "community hard drive". Once the project is completed, the song(s) will be deleted from our hard drive. Before deleting, we will burn DVD-Rs of each song per client's request.

We highly recommend a backup hard drive for backing up the original hard drive upon completion of every session; though we do not make it a requirement. However, please note that we are not held responsible for any lost time, money, or music recording, due to hard drive, computer, or recorder malfunctions, electrical power anomalies, or any other circumstances beyond our control.

We do not charge for CD-Rs or DVD-Rs. [Up to a reasonable amount that we reserve the right to determine on a per project basis.] However, the time it takes to burn CD-Rs and DVD-Rs will be at the Regular Hourly Rate.

Full media cost payment due at the end of first session.

Studio Musicians: For your convenience, we have a staffed producer available for hire. Also, our staff is always on hand to offer their own musicianship (drums, guitar, and bass) for hire if your song or project calls for studio musicians. If other studio musicians are needed, let us know what you are looking for; as we have contact with other studio musicians who may be available for hire. For pricing or further information on this, please inquire.

On-Location Recordings: We offer our recording services for those would like a live recording of their rehearsal, gig, recital, or concert. Stereo and multitrack recording available. Please contact us for customized pricing for your event.

Mastering: We do not offer mastering services. Besides the fact that we feel mastering is generally best performed at a dedicated mastering facility (There is only one recording studio in the Greater Sacramento Area we recommend for mastering.), it is also a benefit to have an engineer, not involved with tracking and mixing, to bring another perspective to the project.

We will offer recommendations of mastering facilities for all sorts of budgets.

Duplication: We do not offer cassette, CD, CD-R, CD-ROM, DVD, or any other duplication services.

We will offer recommendations.

General Policies: A 50% deposit per session is required at time of session scheduling and will be applied to the first session or refunded [on a per session basis] if the client decides to cancel within 48 hours prior to the scheduled session. The deposit is forfeited if the client cancels within 48 hours of the scheduled session or does not ever arrive for the scheduled session. Scheduling may be handled over the phone, however the time scheduled may be forfeited to another client if the deposit is not received within 48 hours of the first scheduled session.

When scheduling sessions, schedule start and end times. If at the end of a session the client would like to continue, we will accommodate if we do not have a prior engagement. If a session is cut short, the client is billed for the time used during that session. A minimum of 50% of the scheduled session is charged.

Billing starts at the beginning of the scheduled session, regardless of the time the client arrives.

Forms Of Payment: We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) via PayPal. Please make payments out to Weston House Recording. Client pays all associated fees and penalties for any returned checks.
